Bridging Tradition and Innovation

At UNIHA Water Technology, we take pride in engineering tailored solutions that seamlessly integrate into existing infrastructure while upholding the highest standards of reliability and efficiency. Our latest project in Romania exemplifies this philosophy, demonstrating how innovation and tradition can converge to address complex engineering challenges.

The Challenge: Preserving Proven Technology in a Modernized Industry

The project involved the replacement of large-diameter mechanical float-operated control valves ranging from DN500 to DN1400, which serve as critical hydraulic components within the treatment plant. These valves regulate inflow at key junctures—acting as inlet control valves for the plant and filter inlet/outlet control valves, ensuring precise water level regulation and the uninterrupted functionality of sand filtration systems.

In contemporary water treatment design, such float-actuated mechanisms have largely been supplanted by electrically or pneumatically actuated control valves, offering remote operation and enhanced automation capabilities. However, in this case, the client sought to maintain technological continuity with the plant’s existing infrastructure, requesting custom-fabricated mechanical float-operated valves that replicate the performance characteristics of the original components.

Engineering a Bespoke Solution

Given the obsolescence of such valves in standard manufacturing catalogs, UNIHA, in collaboration with our esteemed partner Vinicky Armaturen, embarked on the design and production of highly specialized, custom-engineered float-operated control valves.

This process required a meticulous approach, including:

  • Precision hydraulic modeling to ensure the new valves seamlessly integrate into the system’s flow dynamics.
  • Custom machining and fabrication to meet stringent dimensional and operational parameters.
  • Comprehensive performance testing to validate flow regulation accuracy, pressure resilience, and long-term reliability.

Thanks to the expertise and commitment of both teams, the project culminated in the successful manufacture, rigorous testing, and seamless installation of these bespoke float-actuated valves—guaranteeing optimal hydraulic performance and operational longevity.

Commitment to Excellence: Tradition Meets Innovation

This project underscores UNIHA’s unwavering commitment to engineering excellence, adaptability, and customer-centric solutions. While industry trends often favor the adoption of fully automated control systems, we recognize the enduring value of proven mechanical technologies that offer robust, low-maintenance, and highly reliable operation.

By bridging the gap between traditional mechanical solutions and contemporary water treatment infrastructure, UNIHA continues to provide engineered solutions that honor system continuity while meeting modern performance expectations.

We are proud of this achievement and grateful for the trust placed in us by our partners and clients. Together with Vinicky Armaturen, we have demonstrated that no engineering challenge is insurmountable when expertise, collaboration, and innovation converge.
