Our advanced reaction technologies are designed to alter the inorganic and organic composition of water streams. Discover how our innovative reaction products can enhance water quality and meet your specific needs.

Transforming Water Composition through Reaction

At reaction, the inorganic and organic composition of a water stream is changed by chemical and/or biological mechanism.

The reaction can take in different types of reactors, such as plug flow or stirred tanks or in media beds. Reactors need to be supplied with air and/or chemicals (acid, base, oxidants, coagulants/flocculants, nutrients…).

Our Reaction Technologies

We accomplish reaction by the following methods.

Disinfection

Disinfection destroys pathogens which is of upmost importance in drinking water applications. Our technologies comprise dosing and reaction of Chlorine gas, Chlorine Dioxide or Hypochlorite, as well as UV light treatment.

Oxidation

Oxidation converts inorganic and organic material for easier removal. Our technologies comprise dosing and reaction of Chlorine gas, Hypochlorite, Potassium Permanganate, Ozone, Hydrogen Peroxide (with/without catalysts) etc.

Aeration/stripping

Aeration/stripping is performed to (a) enrich water with oxygen to boost biological or chemical reactions or (b) to desorb gas such as CO2, H2S or CH4. Our technologies comprise submersed fine and coarse bubble diffusers, spray or packed bed towers, as well as membrane degasifier.

Coagulation / flocculation / precipitation

Coagulation / flocculation / precipitation is performed to allow separation (sedimentation or flotation) of dissolved and colloidal matter by clarification. Our technologies involve chemical dosing (FeCl3, Alum, PACl, polymers etc.) and reaction in stirred or plug flow tanks, as well as pipe reactors.

CIP

Membrane filtration in most cases requires chemical cleaning. Clean-in-place (CIP) units allow such cleaning with the membranes staying in place. We provide stand-alone CIP units with chemical dosing and heating, based on the required cleaning recipes.

Nitrification/denitrification

Nitrification/denitrification is required to control the water nitrogen content (ammonia, nitrite/nitrate, organic nitrogen). Our technologies comprise air and nutrient supply, as well as reaction in stirred or plug flow tanks, or biofilters.

Organic carbon digestion

Organic carbon digestion is used to reduce the organic load and to produce combustible gas. Our technologies comprise aerobic and anaerobic reactions in stirred or plug flow tanks, or biofilters.
