UNIHA Reverse Osmosis 2x 130 m³/h (6.240 m³/d)

UNIHA-Reverse-Osmosis

serves to remove dissolved inorganic substances from the raw water.

The UNIHA overall system consists of 2 RO units (one in operation, one in standby) and a cleaning unit (CIP…Clean-in-Place).

The RO has a two-stage structure: the concentrate from the first stage is fed to the second stage in the inlet. Permeate is separated off in both stages. The concentrate control valve after the second stage generates the pressure on the membrane required for the selected permeate quantity. The permeate control valve is used to set the even loading of the two stages. When the process is ramped up, all of the permeate is discarded for the time being. It is only fed to the product line after the required quality has been achieved.

The permeate is forwarded to a softening unit.

Technology for climate-neutral steel

The German steel industry needs to rethink. Salzgitter AG also wants to produce steel in an almost climate-neutral manner. Zappe’s job now is to make the steel giant fit for the future. That means: to switch the now so climate-damaging process of steel production to a process that is as climate-friendly as possible. Salzgitter AG is determined and has set specific climate protection goals: In the first step, CO2 emissions are to be reduced by 30 percent from 2025.

The Sales Director of Salzgitter flat steel: “For a large number of our customers it is important to receive a product that is physically real and not just based on more or less theoretical CO2 balance considerations.

SALCOS (Salzgitter Low CO2 Steelmaking)

is a Salzgitter AG program in which processes for CO2-neutral steel production are tested and green hydrogen is generated by electrolysis. Start of SALCOS production from the end of 2025 – Salzgitter AG confirms leading positions in the decarbonization of the steel industry.
